From Arizona to New York, The Onwards and Upwards Book Tour continues...

Always a pleasure to be back in New York with my friends from @pix11news .  Check out a few highlight clips from our segment on staying healthy, happy and safe during the holidays.  Whether it’s #thanksgiving #christmas or #newyearseve there IS a way to have the best of both worlds.  Celebrate life by practicing #moderation and #mindfulness . 💡

✅ Maintaining a healthy lifestyle allows you to enjoy a day of increased calories and carbohydrates.

✅ Eating protein will help you feel fuller, longer because things eggs, almonds, fish, chicken etc. stay in your digestive system longer than sugary snacks and empty carbohydrates.

✅ Drink a protein shake a few hours before you arrive at a party.  This will still enable you to enjoy the festivities but help prevent you from overeating.

✅ Most people eat out of habit vs. hunger.  It’s ok to skip a meal and simply drink a glass of water and instead.

✅ Consider the benefits of intermittent fasting and time restricted feeding if applicable.

✅ Drowsy driving can be as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

✅ Keeping good company is vital because you are who you surround yourself with.
