From Frosted Flakes to Steak for Breakfast: Finding the New Nutritional Normal
3 bowls of Frosted Flakes and a quart of milk so I could slurp up every last bit of the sugary goodness left in the bowl (aka legal crack for kids) … those were the good ‘ol days when we were blissfully ignorant and breakfast was sweet, fast, and seemingly inconsequential.
Fast forward to 2026. The food pyramid is upside down and dinner for breakfast isn’t a crazy concept anymore.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Listen to your body and focus on your waist instead of your weight.
@Costco / Kirkland has come a long way with the quality and selection of their protein, produce, and signature offerings.
Contrary to my old beliefs, it IS possible to cook a perfect medium rare steak on your own stove- for 1/4 of the cost.
It’s not just about what you eat or even WHEN you eat, it’s also about the emotional state you’re in during and after the meal. The health of the gut and digestion are paramount for cracking the “nutrition” code.
Never say never. Whether it’s a personal relationship, a professional evolution, or just an upgrade to your breakfast menu, be open to new perspectives, insights, and possibilities.
Warning: You might find that a new normal can taste and feel even more delicious than the old.
Onwards and upwards…
Cheers, -m
